Benefits of Liquid Supplements
There are lots of benefits of taking liquid supplements. But just what are liquid supplements? Liquid supplements are liquid forms of vitamins and minerals or a combination of the two. Why should you take a liquid supplement versus a tablet form of that same formula? There are probably a lot of good arguments for both sides, but I’m going to focus on liquid vitamins today.
First, from the research I’ve been able to do, nearly 98% of liquid vitamins or minerals is absorbed by your body. With a tablet type of that same vitamin, nearly 90% is going straight through…or right down the drain, so to speak. Yet another benefit of trying a liquid supplement over a pill form, might be that along with the absorption rate, the tablets must be broken down by the digestive enzymes of your stomach. Therefore, a liquid supplement could be more easily absorbed by your body because of the lack of breakdown that would occur.
Another good reason to take a liquid rather than a tablet form is that some people might have trouble swallowing a pill form of a vitamin or mineral. My daughter, for example, can’t coordinate the “pill in; drink in; swallow all together” concept. For her, the pill always seems to get stuck on her tongue and melts in her mouth and is really “yucky”. Then we end up with a whole new issue. Have you ever gotten a pill stuck on your tongue or in your throat? You can imagine what that is for a 9 year old! Believe me, this house needs NO MORE DRAMA. So maybe liquid supplements are perfect for those who can’t swallow vitamins.
Liquid supplements could no doubt even be added to your morning juice or a glass of water if the taste didn’t necessarily agree with you. This is a short list of benefits of liquid supplements. Do you take a liquid vitamin or do you still use a tablet form? Which would you prefer?
